OUR DOGS

Greta, Griff, Grace, and Jaws

Left to right: Griff, Grace, Jaws and Greta
We feed and recommend

Greta von JagerMeister

Greta was born on August 23, 2004. We welcomed her into our home when she was almost 5 months of age. Greta has become a wonderful dog. She hunts with style and then comes home to relax and entertain our 14 month old daughter, Bailey. If there was ever any breed of dog that I would trust with children, it would be a shorthair. Bailey isn't old enough to know how to act around a dog so she crawls, climbs, pulls all over our dogs(when Bailey was 10 months old, now she is understanding to treat the dogs better). To look at Greta while all of this is going on you would think Bailey was invisible. Greta never even opens her eyes! You have to feel sorry for her. So we make Bailey stop bothering the dogs and move her to other toys. What does Greta do? She will get up and go lay down right beside the kid that was aggravating her. It amazes me the love a shorthair projects. Greta and Bailey are best friends. No matter what they are doing, eating, sleeping, or getting into mischief they are doing it together.
July 20th, 2008:  We are sorry to say that Greta was hit and killed by a car on this day. Bailey was very distraught and asks eveyday about Greta Lou. We have had to do a lot of thinking since that day. Greta was our first shorthair and the one that started our kennels. At first we could not bear to think about raising any more pups, but decided that we need to carry on. We will never find another dog like Greta. She was truly our best friend. Loved and missed greatly.

Johnson's Country Zeke
Zeke is owned by Mr. N.S. Johnson a very good friend of ours. Zeke has studded a litter with Greta, which has all been sold. He is a dog with wonderful bloodlines and awesome bird skills. This stud dog is one of a kind. With 27 titled dogs in his 5 generation pedigree, you know he has "it" in him.

Unfortunately, Zeke has passed away.  He will always be remembered for the wonderful hunting partner he was.   Our condolences to Stoney an his family.

Griff Namen von JagerMeister
Griff was born on February 3, 2006 to a family in Wisconsin. He came to join ours when he was 6 weeks of age. Griff shows A LOT of potential and is working toward a title. He scent points, is steady to wing and retrieves. Even though he is only 6 months old, Griff has had several birds killed over him. This little man also has the "it" factor and he gets is honest. Griffs grandfather was Graf vom Vehner Moor, who was once the "Purina" dog and also at one time the most titled GSP in the world. Griff Namen should go far.
Griff is now 10 months old and a bird machine. He loves to be in the field with Beau. Griff is currently working toward his junior hunter title.

Anmut Gefallen vom JagerMeister (Grace)
Grace was born on June 11, 2006. We believe Gracie is going to be a wonderful hunting partner. She works wonderful in the field with quail and is starting on pheasants. As you can see, she also loves lying on the couch after working. Gracie is our more laid back dog. She must get this trait from her mother. Grace and Greta have the same father, Orion's Nemesis, and Greta is not this relaxed. Grace had her first litter in September 2007. She followed in Greta's footsteps and is a wonderful mother. Litter "C" was born 2 weeks premature, but she nursed them all to be big healthy pups. Grace is starting to grow out of her puppy stage. She is becoming a intricate part of Jager Meister Shorthairs. We are excited to see her excel in the upcoming trial season.

Starke Kiefer vom JagerMeister (Jaws)
Jaws is the newest member of our family. He was born July 12, 2005. Jaws spent most of his life with Kirby from Outback Kennels in Kansas and Brian his trainer in Illinois. He is an awesome dog loaded with personality. Jaws has already been showing off his skills in Ohio. Jaws is whoa broke and retrieves to hand. While at home, he spends most of his time playing with Grace.  Jaws is finally finding his place in our pack.  We are all so happy that the power struggles are now over. Griff and Jaws now know that they are BOTH members and not leaders. Although, I think we are all still confused on who is truly the pack leader.... Me or Tia? Anyway, Jaws is still the rock hard hunter he has always been, but now he is also a playmate and cuddle buddy. That's just how we like our shorthairs. :)
